Tommy 14 |
Tommy was walking up the stairs & down the hall to Casey's room, it was really early but he wanted to find out what time Sam's flight was coming in that day & he knew Casey got up early to run. He hadn't heard from Sam since she didn't pick up the phone the night before last & he was starting to get really concerned. Tommy wanted to surprise her at the airport with a big hug & some flowers. He approached Casey's door only to see it slightly ajar. Tommy could see Casey talking to someone he was consoling. "I can't believe he had the nerve to show up at your door" Tommy didn't want to eavesdrop so he knocked lightly & opened the door. He saw Sam sitting in the chair next to Casey's bed in the small room wiping the tears from her face. At the site of Tommy, she immediately rose, walked over & wrapped her arms around his neck. Tommy looked at Casey with a million questions in his eyes. Casey's eyes showed nothing but concern for Samantha. Tommy could feel her slender body shaking in his arms. "I am going to go for a run, you 2 stay here & talk if you want." Casey rubbed his sisters back while she was still in Tommy's embrace. "Is that ok, Sam?" She finally let Tommy go, turning to her big brother, "I will be fine, Case, have a great run!" She kissed his cheek before he walked out of the room. Tommy had sat down on the end of bed. Sam sat down next to him, picking up his large hand in her small one. "I have missed you so much, Tommy!" "Sam, I have missed you like crazy, but you have me worried to death. First you didn't pick up when I called back. Second you haven't called me at all. Third" Tommy stopped because Sam burst into tears. "Sami, please tell me what is going on! Why were you so upset when I walked in here just now?" "Please, Baby, could you just hold me? It is a really long story, but I promise if you just hold me for awhile, I will feel better & I will explain it all to you." Sam's face was so wet with tears how could he push her for answers now? Sam fell asleep curled up in Tommy's arms on Casey's bed. It wasn't long before Tommy had drifted off to sleep also. |
