Tommy 16
Tommy & Sam couldn't find Jeff at his hotel & since Tommy was running late for practice, they just left him a note & went to the ballpark.  Sam was sitting in the stands watching the spring training practice.  She was making notes for her story when Tommy came up to bat.  There was something highly intoxicating about seeing his perfectly toned body standing at home plate with the bat in his hands.  Her attraction to him was almost overwhelming anyway, but Sam had always been very attracted to athletes.  The site of Tommy in his practice uniform was getting Sam's hormones all revved up, she didn't notice someone take the seat next to her.

"Hmmm," the gentleman next to her cleared his throat, making Sam abandon her less than pure thoughts about Tommy's strong, athletic body. "It's very hard to not watch him while he is playing, isn't it?" he asked.

Sam set her tablet down without looking over at her new companion.  "Metcalf is a talent that is for sure."  She started to blush, not too sure how long this man had watched her studying Tommy's physique.  She finally looked over to see Jeff Metcalf in the flesh sitting next to her.  "Mr. Metcalf, oh my goodness," Sam stood up, straightening her ballcap.  "I am very pleased to finally meet you"

"But, Darlin', didn't we meet a few times before?  I have to admit you were pretty young, but I was hoping I made an impression." Jeff was having fun teasing Sam.  Tommy for once wasn't exaggerating when it came to a young lady Sam was very beautiful.

She was so nervous she started to feel nauseous.  "Of course, I remember, Mr. Metcalf.  The day you gave me that jersey of yours was the best day, I have ever had  I mean I could never forget that  Please excuse me, it's just.. WOW!  I can't believe I am sitting here with THE Jeff Metcalf!"

Jeff was smiling, enjoying listening to Sam.  "Sam?"

Sam sat down, hitting her fist to her forehead gently, whispering Stupid, stupid, stupid to herself. "Yes, Mr. Metcalf."

In a very friendly, gentle voice Jeff began "First of all, please call me Jeff.  & Second, I am very pleased to meet you, Tom has talked about nothing else since he met you.  When someone makes my son that happy, it makes his mother & I VERY happy.

Sam & Jeff we interrupted by the sounds of Tommy hitting a homerun.  After Tommy rounded the bases, he went up to the stands to see 2 of his 3 most favorite people in his life.  The only thing that could top this was if his mom was there.  "Hi, Dad!" Tommy hugged his dad; he never really cared about what people thought when it came to showing his parents affection. "I see you 2 have finally met." Tommy wrapped his arm around Sam's shoulders.

She playfully elbowed him "C'mon, Metcalf, your dad & I are old friends.  Isn't that right, Mr. Me..Jeff?!"

Something over Tommy & Sam's heads caught Jeff's eye.  "Hey, Tom, remind me to call your mother & tell her to switch my toothpaste, ok?"

"Sure, Dad" Tommy was puzzled by his dad's sudden change.  He saw a scowl come over Jeff's usually pleasant face. "What's the matter? Did you get a bad tube of Colgate?"

"There is something about that guy that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.  No one smiles that much.  He reminds me of the creep Arthur Shillib."  Jeff got chills up & down his spine.

Tommy & Sam turned around to see a billboard for Colgate toothpaste with the face of Derrick McKinley staring back at them with a toothy grin.
