Jeff spent the next several hours helping Sam get unpacked & talking to her.  The more he learned about her the more he liked & respected her.  It was also very evident that she was head over heels in love with his son.   Sam also confided in Jeff about her tumultuous past with Derrick.  He learned that although Sam knew that it wasn't her fault, she was still ashamed & embarrassed that it went as far as it did.   Jeff sat down on the steps leading to the 2 bedrooms & bathroom of the small house.  "Sam, I don't have any answers about why it happened but I can tell you that not all men treat women that way.  Tom would rather cut his arm off then cause you any pain.  There are few things in life that you can take pride in, but Ginger & I have found we have 3 children who are kind, decent & care about others & that we are extremely proud of."  Jeff thought back to when Tommy was little   "TOMMY!!", cried out Jeff. Jeff stepped out into the backyard just in time to see his son wiggle away from a shadowed figure. Tommy ran straight for his dad. "DADDY!!! Daddy, Carrie hurt Emma," Tommy's words were salt & peppered with sobs. "Daddy, we have to save her." Jeff scooped Emma up in his arms, placing her inside his car. "Hurry, Tommy, get inside the car." Jeff urged his son. Jeff looked over at Sam, she was smiling as she listened to Jeff talk about his family.  "I can't wait to meet everyone, Jeff.  The was Tommy talks I feel like I know everyone.  I can't wait to meet his mother.  I used to watch her show all the time, my mom always tried to make everything in our home perfect, just like Aunt Ginny did."  Sam said. Jeff couldn't help but laugh, no one seems to understand that there were dozens & dozens of people backstage making sure everything was perfect.  As much as he adored his wife, he knew she had a tendency to be a bit clumsy.  "Well, sweetheart, I know she is dying to meet you.!"
