Unlike Jeff's first game, Tommy got a chance at bat twice, he struck out the first time, but got a double on the second try. The game ended in victory. Tommy couldn't wait to introduce Sam to Ginger. After getting changed Tommy waited for Sam to come but she never showed up. He asked Casey if he had seen her, he shook his head, but told Tommy he got a note from her saying that something came up & she
had to leave the stadium right away. Tommy was worried about her, but knew there was nothing he could do until he got home.

Jeff & Ginger stood outside the locker room waiting for Tommy. Ginger couldn't help but get nostalgic when she stood there waiting, it took her back to the first five years she was married to Jeff & how she would wait for him after every home game.

Tommy came out of the locker room, he walked straight over to Jeff, "Dad, can I talk to you for a minute?" Jeff nodded, they walked over a few feet for privacy. "I can't find Sam anywhere. Casey got a note saying she had to leave because something came up."

Jeff placed his hand on Tommy's shoulder, "She will be fine son. I am sure she will call you as soon as she can."

Panic washed over Tommy's handsome face. "What if something is really wrong. As soon as we get back to River Run, I am going to head to Toledo."

Jeff didn't know what was going on with Sam, but he knew she wasn't in Toledo & he had to prevent Tommy from going there without telling him her surprise. "Let's give her until morning to get ahold of you, if we don't hear anything, we will both drive there first thing."

The drive home was a short one, but to Tommy it felt like an eternity. Ginger still had no idea she was supposed to have met Samantha, but she knew something was wrong with her son & that Jeff was worried too. Tommy went up to his room to try to call Sam almost immediately.

Ginger figured this was a good time to confront Jeff about his little floozy. "Jeff, I need to talk to you about something that has been bothering me for several weeks."

Jeff knew something had been preoccupying Ginger but never knew what. He also knew that this wasn't the time to discuss it. "Ginger, I love you very much, but this isn't the best time to talk about this."

"Well when would be the best time to talk about you & that tramp, you two-timer!" Ginger interrupted Jeff.

"Tramp? Two-timer? Ginger what in the world are you talking about?" Jeff was shocked at Ginger accusations.

Ginger's bottom lip started to quiver, "I am talking about you moving your floozy into our son's old house. I can't believe you thought you could get away with it, I confronted her"

This time Jeff interrupted Ginger, "Good Lord, Ginger, what did you do?"

Ginger, startled by Jeff's anger, stuttered out what she said to Sam.

"Do you have any idea what you have done? That was Samantha Tommy's Samantha, she was moving here to surprise him. That is why he is upset now, because she was supposed to meet you today. Sam was so excited about meeting you & surprising Tommy. I have to go & see if she is at home. Don't say anything to Tommy just in case, she isn't home" Jeff ran out the door.

Ginger stood there with her mouth open in disbelief, for once Ginger Szabo Metcalf was speechless.
