Tommy 33
Tommy awoke.  His long legs were tangled up in the lilac hued sheets on Sam's queen-size bed.  After reaching over to pull Sam close to him,  he liked to press the front of his lean muscular body to her petite one & nuzzle his face against the back of her neck, he discovered Sam was gone.  He sat up, listening for any sounds; he could hear the shower running & Sam singing.

Take me out to the ballgame
Take me out to the crowd
Buy me some peanuts & crackerjacks
.

Tommy smiled at the way her voice got louder & more off key when she hit the word crackerjack.  He didn't hear the water stop running in the bathroom.

Sam walked into her bedroom wearing a lavender bathrobe & huge snoopy head slippers adorned her feet.  "What are you smiling at, Metcalf?"

Tommy's grin only got bigger.  "I really love you, Bradshaw, but that had to be the worst rendition of Take Me out to the Ballgame I have ever heard."

"I never said I was Barbra Streisand or anything," said Sam as she was reaching down to remove one of her slippers & toss it at him playfully.  "You think you could do any better?"

Tommy cleared his throat in an exaggerated manner.  He serenaded her with his version of the song.
He grabbed her arm as he sang the last line & pulled her on the bed.  "How was that?" He kissed her quickly.

"I had no idea you could sing,"  Sam said, completely shocked.

Tommy placed his hands behind his head & crossed his feet.  "I am a man of many talents, Sam.  I am an enigma," he said jokingly.

"I am very interested in solving that puzzle, Metcalf, but your family is expecting us for dinner.  I bet your parents are already wondering where we are."  Sam dressed quickly in a pair of khaki shorts & red shirt.

Tommy pulled his shirt over his head, "Sam, speaking of my parents..  Did they know about this move?"

"Jeff did.  He got me in touch with your Aunt Judy for a job & he also snagged up this place for me after your brother moved out.  I would have never been able to pull this off without Jeff.  He is so incredible."

Tommy couldn't understand why he was feeling the way he was, but hearing Sam gush about Jeff made him feel angry in a way.  "More incredible than I am?"  As soon as the words left his mouth Tommy recognized what he was feeling  JEALOUSY!

"Thomas Jeffrey Metcalf, there isn't a person alive who is more incredible than you are.  I am just grateful that he was willing to help me.  He was sure you would be so happy to have me here" Sam heard the strange tone of Tommy's voice but couldn't put her finger on the cause. "You are happy I am here, aren't you?"

As quickly as the feelings came, they went away.  "Sam, it is my fantasy come true.  I keep waiting for Ricardo Montalban & Tattoo to walk in!" He reached over & pulled her into a tight embrace. "I love you so much."

"I love you.  We better go, we would hate to keep your family waiting."

"A Metcalf barbecue you don't know what you are in for!!!"  Tommy laughed as Sam pulled him out of the house by his arm.
