"Students will study the methods of providing support to users of computer software and hardware in a business office environment. Help desk strategies will be examined. While working to solve technical problems relating to hardware, software, and networks, students will study support techniques, time management, scheduling, client relations, and documentation involved in computer support. The practicum component may involve the running of an internal CBIT 220 Help Desk, or possibly work outside the college, particularly at elementary schools throughout Medicine Hat. This will be determined no later than the second week of classes. Practicum work will be in groups which will be selected by students. Group accountability will be to the instructor, and there will be a grade for this work assigned by group peers. |
