I thought that while you were here, you may want a spot of tea and some scones. Our gracious hostess has provided us with these wonderful tea recipes, please feel free to try them.
Chamomile & Spiced Apple
2 oz dried chamomile
2 cloves
3 green cardamoms
1/2 apple, unpeeled & sliced
1 cinnamon stick
Honey, light brown sugar, or maple to serve
Put all ingredients in saucepan and bring to boil.
Lower the heat, stir, and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove
from the heat & pour into a cold container. Let stand for
5 minutes. Strain & pour into a jug or warmed teapot to serve.
The apple slices and cinnamon may be rinsed and added to
the jug when the tea is served. Sweeten to taste w/ honey.
Rosehip, Lemon Verbena, Fennel,
Mint, and Raspberry Tea
2 tsp dried, chopped rosehips (crushed)
1 Tbsp dried lemon verbena
2 tsp dried fennel
2 sprigs fresh mint or 1/2 tsp dried mint
2 tsp dried raspberry leaves
4 cups freshly boiled water
Put the herbs in a tea pot or your chosen container for making
teas. Pour over the water and leave to brew for 4 minutes.
Pour through tea strainer and serve.
Blackberry & Nettle Tea
2 tsp dried blackberry leaves
3 Tbsp fresh nettle leaves or 3 tsp dried nettles
2 1/2 cups freshly boiled water
Put herbs in a teapot or your chosen container for making
herbal tea. Pour over the water and leave to brew for
4 minutes; or longer if you prefer a more pungent flavor.
Pour through tea strainer & serve.
Blackberry & Apple Tea
1 thinly sliced dessert apple
*do not peel or core*
1 3/4 cups freshly boiled water
2 tsp blackberry leaves
Put the apple slices in a saucepan with water and bring to
a boil. Lower the heat, stir in the blackberry leaves, and
simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, mash the apple with
a fork, and strain the tea through a sieve into a warmed tea
pot. Pour at once through tea strainer.
Chamomile Tea & Honey
1 tsp dried chamomile
1/2 cup freshly boilied water
Acacia honey to taste
Put the chamomile in an individual tea pot or your chosen
container for making herbal tea. Pour the water over and
leave it to brew for 3 to 5 minutes. Pour the tea through
tea strainer, and add honey to taste when serving.
Chamomile & Mint Tea
4 tsp dried chamomile
3 to 4 sprigs fresh mint or 1 tsp dried mint
2 1/2 cups freshly boiled water
Put herbs into tea pot. Pour water over them & leave to
brew for 4 minutes or longer if you prefer a more pungent
