Well, I just wanted to comment on a new friend that I met today.  Her name is Rene and she works as a marketing person for the School of Professional Studies here at GU.  I went to go fix her laptop and she asked me tons of computer questions, all of which I answered satisfactorily, and we ended up on the topic of being a girl geek.  I got along with Rene very well, she's really nice.

Needless to say she had some good advice (some of which I have heard before) and she knows where I'm coming from because she was once overweight herself.  She suggested a friend of hers that is a family practice MD that I want to go see and a place to go get some "glamour upgrades".  I have become her "project" because she says she wants to help me and thinks I can look "stunning" in around 6 months.

She's gonna take me to the gym (wow, someone who can go to the gym here on campus I wouldn't have to pay for) and teach me how to lift "free-weights".  She says it will do wonders for my arms and legs.  She should know, she's absolutely beautiful and was even Ms. Washington a couple of years in a row.

The big question, why am I listening to her and not to other friends who have suggested similar things in the past??  I'm not sure, although it seems she has the edge of completely understanding my predicament, in a way that only another ex-overweight woman could understand.
