Well, this is my new friend Tom.  I have talked to him online and on the phone for two weeks now and I am very much enjoying talking to him.  We were supposed to catch up with each other and go bowling this weekend, but unfortunately Tom caught the flu from his boss.  He has, however, talked to me on the phone and online for a few hours each day this weekend, he just wasn't up to going out. (he sounded awful and I hope he gets well soon)

Things I know about him: Tom is a tow truck driver and has worked the same place for over 2 years.  He works a lot and gets called in to work often.  Tom says he really needs a vacation!  He is buying his own house which, conveniently, is just across the street from his workplace.  He loves to drive his older, beat-up, truck, even though it gets terrible gas mileage.  He's 28 years old, has a great sense of humor, and seems very independent and self-sufficient.  He wants his own family someday and is tired of coming home to an empty house and just "staring at the walls." (loneliness is definately a feeling I can relate to. . .)

I really have enjoyed talking to him these last two weeks, but hopefully I won't talk his ear off.  I have the bad habit of talking too much, as everyone who knows me knows all too well.  I'm making effort to let him talk and I listen to him because I want to learn more about him.   I do hope he gets better and that we can meet each other for dinner sometime this week.

In other news, I drop the car off to the Auto Body Shop tomorrow morning and by Thursday it should look brand new again!  I am very happy about this . 

I will have to walk to work this week and stuff so Tom will have to come get me if we go out.
