The Ups and Downs of Being a Female Computer Geek
Laid Back Weekend

Friday night my gamers showed up and we had yet another installment of Jason's "Serenity" game.  We all had a great time and made plans to have them come back Saturday night so we could finish Richard's D&D 3.5 game he is running.

On Saturday, my Pyrotechnician Safety Class for Entertainment Fireworks Inc. went well.  But, we didn't get to blow anything up...Image  I'll admit I fell asleep Image a couple of times because I rushed out the door and forgot my meds (I suffer from mild Narcolepsy for those of you who didn't know).  oops..   But I think I got all the pertinent info and am now ready to go work on some fireworks shows this season (they even gave me a nifty course completion card).  I thought it was rather funny that the Pyro saftey training was held at Hazen and Jaeger, a Funeral Home in the Valley.  Apparently one of the Pyros that shoots shows with EFI owns the place and offered the space for the training.

Saturday night the rest of the gamers showed but our Game Master was nowhere to be found!!!  So, instead, I drug out one of my favorite Steve Jackson card games, "Ninja Burger" where you are a Ninja that works for Ninja Burger Inc, and you have to deliver tasty Ninja Burgers to the most unlikely places, and never get caught, in under 30 minutes or less!  I think it went over pretty well.

Sunday was spent contemplating my English paper, the 1st draft is due today, and I have it about 1/2 done...  I hate being a procrastinator sometimes.   I also got to talk to a new friend named Dave whom I seem to get along with almost instantly.  He and I seem to think alike A LOT...  It's almost scary.  (I seriously never thought I'd actually run into someone else who thinks so much like me, I'd always hoped I would, but never really thought it was possible)  Dave and I talked on the phone twice and covered some really great topics.  I also went to my friend's the Martin Family's house because they threw a BBQ (a.k.a. The Martinclan Meatfest)  and took my roommate's oldest son, Ryan, with me.

Hopefully I will get to chat with Dave some more.  He seems interesting and actually thinks it's cool that I like videogames and roleplaying games!!  FINALLY, someone who thinks it's cool that I'm a female geek!!  I'm liking this.   He said he'd take me out to the movies s0metime here in the near future, I am looking forward to it.
