Apartment Shopping - Rev. 2.0

Well I caught up with a new friend named John and his son Gus and went to Pullman with them (they live in a small town on the way) to look at the apartment.  I found the apartment complex very uninviting and pretty old.  It was nowhere near campus and looked very "grungy."  I truly hated the apartment so I went to plan #2, look close to campus to see what else was available.

After driving through a couple of neighborhoods and then going up Stadium Way (the main street that runs through campus), I stumbled upon a really NICE apartment complex just 4-5 blocks from school.  It was after hours so I couldn't actually see an apartment, but the complex looked very new and incredibly well-kept.  The gounds were landscaped and the laundry rooms had new appliances in them.  I'm going to call back the realty company that handles these apartments this morning and see if they have anything available that I can go see on Monday. (yes, I'm gonna drive an hour and a half to go see an apartment on my birthday..)  If the inside of these apartments are as nice as the outside, I'm sold.

After that I took John and his son out to dinner at Pizza Hut.  It was the least I could do for dragging them with me to look at apartments..  The dinner was nice, but the place was really loud. (there were a bunch of students there that came for a Future Farmers of America conference, I am actually surprised that that organization still exits - my Father was in FFA when he was in high school in the late 60s)  John's son Gus seems like a very bright boy and he's quiet and well-mannered, he seems like a great kid.  John is also very nice and I found him to be interesting to talk to because he's very smart, although there are some political stuff he and I definately disagree on.  I think John will make a good friend, and since I don't have any down in Pullman yet, I definately will need that friendship.

Friendship is the best way to start any sort of relationship with a person, because reguardless of whether or not anything more happens, atleast you can "still be friends" with that person.  It is also a good basis for learning about someone "at a safe distance" from them.

I am definately looking forward to my LAN Birthday Party that my friends from SpokLAN are throwing me Friday Night!!!!  I'm gonna have SOOOO much fun!!! Image
