The Ups and Downs of Being a Female Computer Geek
Just Another Day

I went out with a guy I met off Yahoo Personals last night named Jay.  We went to see "The Chronicles of Narnia : The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe"  Jay seems nice, but very "Californian".

So far, his good points are:  He seems intelligent and witty and likes roleplaying games, comic books, and video games

Bad points: He doesn't have a car, seems to be employed part time?, walks everywhere/takes the bus and seems not to wish to have a car due to reasons like "high gas prices", I get the impression that his political views are very liberal and would definately conflict with me, and generally I was simply unimpressed with him.

So, I'm not sure if Jay reads my blog, but if he does, there's my general first impression. . .  Sorry.

I keep wishing I could go hang out more with my friend Alan, but he is so busy with work and stuff I'm not sure he really has time for anyone in his life.  Really sucks though cause I truly enjoy his company and I just want him to know that I actually care about him.  Not sure what I can do, because he has to decide that he has time to visit with me, so, it's really up to him.

Let's see, I signed up for class this semester at GU.  This semester I'm taking English..  yipee..  but I figure, if I am ever going to have a Bachelor's Degree, I'd better get started.  I went to the bookstore and they want like $100 for the 2 books for the class. (ouch!)  I wrote down the info on the books and it looks like I can get them both for close to $40 off Ebay, so that's what I'll do.

I'm starting to get frustrated by the amount of "help" I'm giving other people.  It seems my friends wait till something becomes an extreme emergency then finally tell me about it in hopes that I will help them out, and as always, I feel if I don't help them out that I'm a terrible, awful friend so I cave in and help them.  The problem is this is becoming a "common" occurrence and these occurrences have recently come an inconvenient times for me financially.  I just want my friends to be more responsible for themselves and not to have to ask me for stuff all the time.  I can't do this much longer or I will get so pissed off that I will dump those people who constantly keep "borrowing" from me.
