Seasons of Love
The many faces and seasons of
love,
Are scattered throughout all
of time.
From the very young and innocent
eyes,
To the old ones that so mirror
mine....
The love within holds on to survive,
Through the tests and trials
of life,
Through every tear and every
smile,
Through every heartache and
strife.
Through illness and pain we do
what we must,
For we know we must carry on...
And we hold the hurt deep in
our soul,
That our loved one will soon
now pass on....
They seem uncertain and so very
lost,
Unable to touch all their mind
holds...
Feeling the knowledge seep from
within,
Seeing darkness and sensing
such cold.
They know the face, but not the
name,
They know they have a home,
but not 'where',
They don't know who you are
in their life,
But they feel the way that you
care.
The world grows more strange,
and more unknown,
With each passing day and each
night.
And everything they've known
to be,
Slowly slips from minds sight....
But the heart, it still remembers,
And it holds all the love that
you've shared.
It holds each smile, and every
touch,
And holds each whispered prayer.
Yes, the heart that's so much
a part of yours,
And the soul that yours holds
so dear...
The spirit that's filled with
endless life,
And the deep love that soothes
every fear....
The hand that's held to give
hearts strength...
The touch to tell them you're
there...
The kiss to soothe the pain
and fear...
And the hug to show them you
care....
The overwhelming sadness,
Of watching their life slowly
fade...
The gentle peace and endless
ache,
When their passage into paradise
is made....
Yes, there are many faces and
seasons of love,
And they're scattered throughout
all of time...
From the very young and innocent
eyes,
To the old ones that so mirror
mine.
