Unicorns Are Beauty In The Mind As Well As The Eye.

They Roam Our Hearts, As Well As Lands Unseen By The Modern Eye.

Because One Has Never Seen It Does Not Mean These Wonderous Creatures Don't Still Gallop Past. Maybe We're Just To Corrupted And Blind To See The Horn Embedded In It's Forehead.

The Unicorn, a fabulous and magical beast, resembles a horse with a spiral horn in the middle of its forehead. It is also described as having the tail of a lion, the beard of a goat, and the hind legs of an antelope. Some may even develop wings, and these are known as a Pegasai. Unicorns were once considered native to India and were reportedly seen throughout the world. While some Unicorns are pure white, a symbol of virginity, others may be as dark as the night. In Iconography, they are associated with the Virgin Mary. In the West, Unicorns are usually considered wild and untamable, while in the Orient they are considered peaceful, meek, and possessors of good luck. Hunting the Unicorn was a tapestry subject in the late Middle Ages and Renaissance. If captured or cornered, a Unicorn will fight fiercely but it can be tamed by a virgin's touch.

The Unicorn's horn, or alicorn, is very magical and fantastic. It is white at the base, black in the middle, and red at the tip. Because of its magical powers, it was extremely valuable during the Middle Ages. It is said to cure many illnesses and poisons. It also provides protection against all evils, including pestilence and epilepsy. Because so many people sold fake horns during the Middle Ages, many methods were used to determine the genuiness of the horn. The following methods were used: 1. The true horn, when thrown into water, will send up little bubbles. The water will appear to boil even if it is cold. 2. An alicorn gives out a sweet odor when burned. 3. Poisonous plants or animals, when near the true horn, will burst and die. 4. If a piece of silk is placed upon a piece of coal, and burns when an alicorn is near, then it is genuine.

Although Unicorns lived mostly in the legends of Roman and Greek Mythology, they are still an interest of our world today. Their undescribable beauty, grace, and charm will never die.
