Slow-pitch
A 4-year letterwinner, Marilyn was a
3-time team MVP, 2-time County Player of the Year (2000
& 2001) and a
member of Who's Who in High School Sports. She played a key roll
in the Lady Vikes North State Championship as a Junior and in
their winning a 2nd consecutive District Championship her senior
year. She received State All-tournament honors both years.
As a graduating senior, her awards
included co-recipient of the Warren Central Female Athlete of the
Year and was named by the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and
Museum as their first ever recipient of the PopSport Award for
slow-pitch.
Her final high school game came after
graduation as a member of the North Team in the Mississippi High
School All-Star Game.
