Org Profile

The UP-CMC Broadcasting Association is a non-stock, non-profit student organization of the University of the Philippines Diliman, based in the College of Mass Communication. More popularly known as BROAD ASS, the organization seeks to be the elite production outfit, which provides the best hands-on training to future mass communicators.

BROAD ASS is home to a lot of famous names not only in the broadcasting industry but also in business, music, film, and politics.

A few people from the organization's roster of alumni include Sari Yap, Paolo Bustamante, Loren Legarda, Director Maryo J. Delos Reyes, Bob Dolina, Ogie Alcasid, Chico Garcia, Tessie Tomas, RX 93.1 DJ Raffy Bareiro, Luchi Cruz Valdez, Vida Doria, Nina Corpuz, Kathy San Gabriel, Ninna Castro, Setset Hernandez, Mariz Umali, Adrian Ayalin, Carlo LorenZo, and many more.

Dulaang Kapiterya (Refilled)


BROAD ASS is also known for its traditional Dulaang Kapiterya, a collection of plays written, directed, and staged by the Assers themselves. A trilogy, it is divided into three segments: comedy, murder mystery, and musical.

Known more as DK among students, it became so popular it was able to fill 300 seats on its first showing last semester. Due to popular demand, BROAD ASS will be re-staging DK. In its desire to help its very own College, the proceeds of the re-staging, called Dulaang Kapiterya Refilled, will be donated to the CMC Media Center.

Time & Tide


Having the same intention of helping its College, BROAD ASS will also be holding TIME & TIDE. This event will be a concert in celebration of the new CMC Media Center. Let us take a look at the evolution of music, fashion, and the College of Mass Communication through the years, from the 60s up to the present.

mga peeps, ako po ay isang asser kaya asahan ninyong magiging parte ako ng mga event na 'to. sa dulaang kapiterya, si lagsh po ay assistant director ng murder mystery part at gaganap siya ng medyo cameo pero may kuwenta pa ring role sa musical. hindi po siya kakanta.

sa time & tide naman, wala pa masyadong clear assignment of performances. update ko na lang kayo. hindi naman sa gusto ko kayong panoorin ako, pero iniimbitahan ko lang kayong manood nang maging successful ang event namin, para na rin sa ikabubuti ng mga future masscom students.
