Return To The Sub From The Tower

OK, you've gotten to the top of the tower.  Now, you want to go back to the sub to re-check some information at the schoolhouse.  You go back to the trapeze but, lo and behold, you can't get back down!!  What now?  You will have to walk, I guess.  (What? You can't walk on water?  Guess you'll just have to find another way).

Where does the upper walkway go to?  You couldn't get to it from the lower walkway, so how can you get down?

This is one place you shouldn't need any more clues, so I'll leave you on your own as far as getting to the lower walkway :)
