Bariaur are the centaur-like race for Planescape.  Unlike centaurs, however, which have the lower half of a horse, bariaur have a body that closely resembles a huge American Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep.  The male bariaur [bucks] even sport the rams’ large spiral horns on their heads.  Some of the more ignorant, less-traveled races might derisively call bariaur “goat-men” or “halfgoats”.  That is the quickest way to anger one of the proud bucks whose very name, “Rapochi Damagami”, has the word “warrior” in it.  {The "Tale of the Bariaur" banner (to the left) will lead you to Bariaur knowledge that will help you better understand this fun race}  Below is the artwork from the Planescape manual and also various descriptions of the noble nomadic Bariaur.

The "Typical" Bariaur Personality
"The major key to understanding bariaurs is their passion. Bariaurs feel, and they feel strongly. Whether a bariaur is friendly, gruff, aggressive, playful or all of these, he acts on his feelings. Thankfully for those around them, most bariaurs are good-natured, rather than given to violent or negative emotions, though most (especially males) do love a good fight now and again -especially against any giant who is within several hundred legues. Whatever activity or profession a bariaur is enaged in, he pursues it with enthusiasm. Apathetic or dispondent bariaurs are very rare, and are pitied by their fellows.  A good way to get on the bad side of a proud bariaur, however, is to make goat jokes. They hate those. Many a quiet Azolin tavern has been turned upside-down by some clueless sod who made an off-hand remark about a bariaur's heritage.
