File Packer
Consider the following cases when you are on the Internet:
- You are trying to upload (or download) a file. When it is 99% completed, your modem clicked...
- Your web host says that the biggest file you can upload is 1MB. Unfortunately your file is 1.1MB...
- You have a file that is 5MB in size, but you only have 4.5MB of space left on this account. If you upload the file to a different account, this 4.5MB is completely left used...
- You have a file that is 60MB in size, but all of your web accounts' capacities are 30MB or less...
- You need to burn a bunch of files on a CD, and each is around 200MB, so with a 700MB CD you will end up with 100MB unused...
With my File Packer, all of your problem is solved. The File Packer lets you cut a large file into however many smaller pieces (as small as 1 byte per piece!!!), distribute them seperately. To use the file, just glue all the pieces back together and there is your original file!
Download File Packer v1.11 now
Just released - New File Packer v1.11
- Fixed the issue that when dividing/glueing a large file using large chunks, the application either freezes or spits out an "out of memory" error
- PF now displays the percentage of operations
Usage:
To Divide a file:
- Click "Divide File"
- Load the file you want to divide.
- Specify how big you want each chunk to be (default is the file size, 1 chunk).
- Click Divide button
- Choose a destination directory in which the files will be saved.
To Glue files:
- Move the HED and all of its DIV into the SAME directory.
- Click "Glue File"
- Load the HED file
- Click Glue button.
- Choose a destination folder in which the file will be restored.
Warning:
The HED file contains all the necessary information about the original file. Glue will not work without the HED file. Files will NOT be glued unless all the chunks (DIV files) are present.
