Four killed in fresh violence in Indonesia's Poso district
Indonesian police say four people have been killed and four others injured in the latest
outbursts of sectarian violence in the district of Poso in Central Sulawesi.
The Poso district Police chief said gunmen attacked two separate villages killing two
people in each.
In Jakarta, the national police's Deputy Spokesman Brigadier General Sunarko said
the renewed violence in Poso showed there were still people interested in stiring up
violence in Poso district.
He mentioned no names but vowed the police would find and arrest those behind the
attacks.
Up to 1,000 people were killed in Muslim-Christian battles, which broke out in the
Poso district in 2000.
