Five rebels killed in Aceh
Indonesian troops have reportedly killed five more separatist rebels and seized
weapons in the latest clashes in Aceh province.
The military says the clashes broke out in three districts in North Aceh and
Southwest Aceh over the past two days.
Soldiers confiscated an AK-47 rifle, two pistols, a hand grenade, rifle ammunition, a
radio and a separatist flag.
The military in May declared martial law and launched an all-out offensive to crush the
Free Aceh Movement, which has been fighting for independence since 1976.
