Convicted Bali bomber gives evidence in support of another
suspect
A key Bali bomber, who has already escaped the death penalty, has testified that
another suspect on trial for his life did not assemble the biggest bomb.
Ali Imron was giving evidence in the trial of Abdul Ghoni, who could face a firing squad
if found guilty of helping plan the attacks, helping to assemble the bombs and
possessing explosives.
Imron has been jailed for life for his role in the bombings, which killed 202 people in
Bali last October.
Three other key suspects have been sentenced to death but Imron received a lighter
sentence after expressing remorse.
Ghoni's trial resumes on December 8.
