Seven rebels die in latest violence in Indonesia's Aceh
The Indonesian military says its troops have killed seven suspected separatist rebels
in clashes and raids in the troubled province of Aceh.
Four suspected rebels were also arrested and four others surrendered in the
operations.
Earlier, it was announced in Jakarta that the military commander in Aceh had been
replaced.
A military spokesman said Major-General Bambang Darmono had been replaced in a
regular rotation by Brigadier-General George Toisutta.
Indonesia pulled out of a ceasefire with the Free Aceh Movement in May accusing it of
cheating on the truce, and sent 40,000 troops and police to wipe out the rebels.
Since then more than 11-hundred guerrillas and scores of police and soldiers are said
to have been killed.
