Bali bomb accomplices given reduced sentences as part of Eid
al-Fitr
Seven men jailed in Indonesia for their relatively minor roles in the Bali bombings have
received sentence reductions as part of an Eid al-Fitr holiday tradition.
The chief of the Kerobokan prison in Denpasar, Bali, says the seven have each had
their sentences reduced by 15 days.
He says they are among 220 inmates at his institution who have received the
traditional Eid al-Fitr remissions.
Thousands of inmates across Indonesia have also had their sentences reduced.
The seven had been sentenced to between three and six years in prison for hiding key
Bali bombers Ali Imron and Mubarok in East Kalimantan.
Mubarok and Imron were sentenced to life for the October, 2002, nightclub bombings
which killed 202 people.
