Indonesia fetes Christmas under tight security
Tight security is in place in Indonesian as Christians flock to churches to celebrate
Christmas.
AFP newsagency says by mid-morning, there was no report of violence in Jakarta or
elsewhere in Indonesia.
Almost 160,000 officers, or two-thirds of the Indonesian police force, are reported to
be deployed nationwide for the Christmas and New Year festivities.
On Christmas Eve three years ago, the Jemaah Islamiyah terror group launched
coordinated bomb attacks on churches and priests nationwide, killing 19 people.
