Ari S. Wolov Memorial Scholarship Fund

Since Ari passed away, his parents have been working on a way to keep Ari's name and memory alive forever. They recently put together a letter describing how they plan on doing this:

Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues,

As you must know, our son Ari passed away suddenly in April, 1999. At the time he was engaged to a lovely girl, Lisa, and they were living in New Jersey. All those who knew Ari could see that he was a special kid. He touched people in a quiet, peaceful way that can only be described as angelic .

Like most kids growing up, Ari went through difficult times finding himself. A m ajor help along the way was spending time in Israel, once for a summer and later for twelve months on the Year Course. It had a huge impact on his life. It helped shape his development, added to his maturity and gave him the opportunity to create relationships throughout the United States. The Year Course was so important to Ari that we know he would have wanted us to offer this opportunity to others.

So here we are. Maybe through Ari's passing, we can create the possibility of providing the wonderful experience of the Year Course in Israel for someone else.

We have started the ARI S. WOLOV MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND, under the auspices of Hadassah, so that each year one or two young adults can experience Israel. We are asking for your financial support, so we can make the scholarship fund self-perpetuating.

Our goal is to help youngsters grow, as Ari did, from having such a positive experience. We know that this would have made Ari very happy. He cared about others more than anybody we know. In this way his caring and his memory can live on forever.

We thank you for your support.

Warmest regards,

Judith and Michael Wolov
