Club Gran Paradise Bavaro
in Bavaro Beach, Dominican Republic.
In 1492, Christopher Columbus discovered
"the most beautiful land human eyes had ever seen".
The island, baptized by the Spanish as Hispaniola.
On the easternmost tip of the island is Punta Cana,
known for its spectacular beaches and clear waters,
Punta Cana is an escapist's dream .....
.... and on April 10, 2005....

Princessa was very surprised to see us arriving this way...

but Rafael and Señoritas were very happy to see us ! ! !

short trip by local truck and we've met Jerry at the train station,
then on the train ( running between Gran Paradise and Club)
we listened to "No es amor" ( Obsession ) by Aventura,
we had to wakeup early and work a little at the local Plaza .....
to be able to enjoy the shade of the palapas on the beach....

The palapa is a thatched roof structure made of palm fronds.
Rumor has it that to ensure quality structure the fronds
can only be harvested by a full moon.
These fronds are intricately woven into beautiful designs
and are used as covers for patios, restaurants, etc.
Smaller ones dot the beaches and are used as shade for sun worshippers.

and later at Manglar's bar, we've met Kayo.
by the way all the "cervezas" were on me....

and you start singing "por que te vas" Zaire y Jaime.
every night, dining a la carte at Manglar was a magic
and sublime experience, and the staff and the s t a f f !
Also at Manglar, one night, we had a dinner with Loraine and Juan
from Toledo, Spain.

Predominant are the Cathedral at its right and the Alcázar at its left,
with the Tagus River and one of its bridges surrounding the city
that mixed in complete harmony three ancient cultures.

We've met this couple from "La Mancha" at the beach
and continued to celebrate in spanish style all night long,
Sí ,el hombre vive en la realidad, es real y piensa con realismo.
Pero hay otro mundo
las v a c a c i o n e s ......
ahí dentro : los recuerdos, los deseos,
las ilusiones, los temores, los remordimientos.
Es todo ese etéreo mundo inmaterial, escondido,
abierto a posibilidades y variables.

Punta Cana Airport and up we went.
