Jardines del Rey dubbed the "Cuban keys"
the tiny islands of Jardines del Rey
strung off Cuba's Atlantic Coast are off Cuba's northern coral reef
mangroves and everglades, flamingoes and roseate spoonbills,
sun-bleached sand and turquoise waters ( The King's Gardens )
are immortalized in Ernest Hemingway's novels :
"Islands in the Stream" and "The Old Man and the Sea".

finally delivered us to this paradise.

No wonder "Papa" liked it.

Not too far from here, in March 1668 Henry Morgan,

the greatest buccaneer of all,

sailed with 10 ships and 500 men,
to Puerto Principe in Cuba.
When the citizens got advance warning of the attack,
they laid ambushes and hid their treasure,
Diosa Playacita,(see above)
which led to their torture when the attackers arrived,
ransom of 50,000 pieces of eight bought her release.
