Northwest Specialty Show Winter 2002

Hi everyone:

We completed our first 2 day show this past weekend and it was phenomenally successful.  There were 50 dogs, yes that's right, 50 dogs entered both days.
I just have to say that even though it might seem like we're throwing down a gauntlet here, our Northwest club has so many people who help and so many who care so deeply about our dogs, it's just very nice to be associated with all of them.  Special thanks to the folks on our Board of Directors who bent over farther than backwards to make sure every detail was planned in advance.   Board President Jennifer Kemmish, Treasurer Carol Goldberg, and members Lori Younger, Alina Wilson and Pierrre LeMaitre are the aboslute tops and made the show a very special event for all those involved.  A special thanks goes to Alina, who had to juggle a husband's weekend work schedule and her first litter of 3 week old Leolets and still manage to do her part in making this so successful.

Thanks to Lori Younger, we had a visit from the local NBC affiliate KIRO TV who shot a piece which aired on their nightly news Saturday and print media coverage with pictures in several local papers.  And, we're still counting the money from the 2 day fund raising raffle also spearheaded by Lori.

We had a very special guest who joined us from Denmark to check on the progress of 2 of his puppies living in Seattle.  A Mr. Jorgen Hansen whom some of you might remember as the judge from last year's National in Delavan.  He is a true gentleman, a fun guy to be around and it was terrific seeing him again.

Special congratulations to Laurie See and her little girl Freya von Alpensee who took BOS on Saturday and BOW and BIS on Sunday for a cool 10 points in 2 days.

There will be more detail and pictures to follow in the LeoLetter but here are the results from both days:
BTW sorryfor having to replace the “B” word with female but we’ve got some pretty heavy content filtering going on here at work.  I’m also sending the Sunday results as a separate email since the 2 together were more than the 150 line limit.
