Department Order #4
Issued: September 20, 2001
The Commander-in-chief, George Powell, has ruled on the matter concerning the Honorary Membership within Elisha Dyer Camp #7. The Commander ruled that the only Honorary Member recognized by the National Order is Major General N. Andre Trudeau (retired). The Commander-in-chief based his ruling on the fact that only a "person" can receive Honorary Membership. A "position" is not eligible to receive such recognition. In order to obtain such honorary recognition from the National Order, a Camp or Department must follow the rules set forth in the Constitution & Regulations of the Order.
The membership of Elisha Dyer Camp #7 may elect to make the current State Adjutant General, Major General Reginald Centracchio an honorary member of Camp 7. However, until Elisha Dyer Camp 7 receives an approval from the National Council of Administration, Elisha Dyer Camp 7 is required to pay the National per capita tax on his membership.
Therefore, until the membership of Elisha Dyer Camp 7 elects to pay the National per capita for MG Reginald Centracchio, his name is hereby removed from the Department membership. Major General N. Andre Trudeau's name is hereby re-installed on the roster of Elisha Dyer Camp 7 and of the Department of Rhode Island as an Honorary Member.
