Def Leppard in NY!!
This is a view from the ferris wheel of the grandstands DL packed Sat night! (Thanks Patti!)
Here is my concert story.....
NY SUX!!! Can we say PUT UP SOME DAMNED ROAD
SIGNS??
I got to NY about a hour behind schedule due to poorly marked
roads- luckily it was still plenty early enough for me to go to
the Econo Lodge and check in and meet Lana from LepNet.
Lana is a sweetheart- we had a great time visiting and chatting
and she showed me all her pics from England- Players Café,
Mookie Manor, etc. Very cool.
We tried to find the other LepNetters at the show but no luck..
We stood next to the merchandise stand as advertised before,
during, after MDM and after the show. I guess we just didn't
recognize anyone.
When the started playing G'N'R's Coma, Lana said this is it-
2 more songs and they're out! So I went running for my seat
sloshing beer all over me as I went.
Kicking myself for not bringing the camera but I was afraid of it
getting confiscated and my dad killing me. Luckily both Lana and
my friend from CT who rode up with me (Thanks Patti!) brought
cameras.I helped take a few pics with Patti's camera. Those are
the pics posted here.
The people behind us were REALLY rude- they kept pushing us off
the chairs when we tried to snap pics. I got pretty banged up and
bruised. They were REALLY mad when I held up my banner during Let's
Get Rocked.
I was pretty close- could see the guys crystal- I was in row 11.
During Slang I jumped on a chair and waved and pointed to my
Slang shirt. No one in my whole section was up on a chair so I
was pretty sure it was me Phil pointed to and gave a thumbs up!
The bras being tossed up on stage were funny- the expression on
Viv's face when Joe put the bra on his mic stand was priceless !!
Even better was when Joe took the one off Phil's stand and put it
on the end of Sav's bass mid-song! Sav had to play with it waving
off the end till the song was done! LMAO!!
Oh and the sugar packets were hysterical!! Joe was waving at the
people throwing them like "Come on, throw 'em!" But
then he got whapped in the eye and one exploded all over Sav! Sav
was trying to wipe it off! Other than that there wasn't a lot of
them messing around on stage.
The songs were solid- really terrific- the crowd near us were
jerks and that kinda spoiled it a bit. Lana and I tried to find
the LepNetters after the show- it was pretty empty when we left
but we never ran into anyone. Lana's friend Scott did get a pic
of me and Lana holding up my banner. :) We went back to the Econo
Lodge and went over to Dennys for food.
We ended up chatting till about 3:30AM. I am now kicking myself
for not trying to find the hotel in NY where the guys stayed. I
missed Joe on the piano! :(
Here is me and Lana and my banner!
