Def Leppard Rocked Vermont!!
And I was there! Here is my story and pics of the show:
Ok well Day 2 (see Def Lep in NY site for Day 1 details)started off pretty good- Econo Lodge had a free continental breakfast and it wasn't all sugar stuff (oatmeal and an apple yeah! : ) so I was set! (I'm diabetic BTW if your wondering why that made me happy)
I left about 9:30AM. Ok this is where I have to state- NY SUX!!!! The roads where not clearly marked and it took me 5 hrs to get to VT!!! Once I hit VT it was fine- they mark their roads! But it shoulda only been 6.5 hrs total and I ended up in NY for an extra 1.5 hrs being lost.
I was in VT and there was NOTHING but fields full of rocks and cows. I was already 2 hrs late; and since the cows didn't have pay phones I decided to call my friends at the hotel using the cell phone (which worked amazingly- guess those cows got cellular). I have never talked on a phone and driven before- that was fun LOL. Look out for cows! Ha ha!
I made it to the hotel just in time to get up to the room and change so we could head to the show. I was pretty sure I saw Malvin in the lobby while I was waiting for the elevator- turns out I was right- cause he was wearing that hat of his. Didn't bother him though because I wanted to get to the show. (And I'm sure the guys did too)
The VT show was better than NY (I thought). My dumbass forgot an extra roll of film so I ran outta film in the middle of the show and missed all the best shots. (Like Joe lying on the stage and hanging from the scaffolding; Viv leaning over Phil's shoulder going WOW, and Sav wearing the infamous soccer jersey)
I was in line for soccer jerseys when
someone came up to me and "Hey aren't you Sari?" I was
like yeah
turned out it was a guy from DefNet I had talked
to a few times- he recognized me from this site. That was cool :)
The people around me in VT were awesome- the girls next to me
helped me hold up my banner (one of them is on LepNet and
recognized me too) and the people behind me I talked to before
the show and I told them about what happened in NY when I tried
to take pictures and they said no problem don't worry about it.
In fact when I did get on my chair the guy behind me was nice
enough to steady me so I wouldn't fall- the seats where folding
plastic chairs- not real sturdy.
The guys looked WAY happier in VT and they were goofing around a lot. My camera doesn't have a zoom so I couldn't get great details but I have a few really good panoramic shots. When we got back to the hotel I put a new roll of film in but the flash never went off! I found out later the camera died- it's broken! :(
Joan Jett opened for the guys and here's a few shots of her:
Before the guys came out we had what I thought was a good sign:
As the clouds rolled in to darken the sky the boys took the stage and here they are!
