WP: Andy Madden
LP: Bob Finucan
HR: Sun-Dave Tolles
The veteran Bob Finucan (9 hits, 10 Ks, 5 ER)and
the rookie Andy Madden squared off (9 hits, 6 Ks, 4 ER)and the rookie came out
ahead. A good ball game with back and forth action. Dave Tolles gave the
Sunbury men the early lead with a two run shot in the top of the first.
The Express battled back in the bottom of the first to tie the score when Lester
Brown (on a call up due to prom night staffing shortages) tripled into the gap
in left center driving in Chris Lewis who had singled to lead off. Brown came
home on a fielders choice. Lewis and Brown were hot for the Express Lewis went
four for four with two singles and two triples and scored twice. The last score
was their winning run
when following the triple he slid home under the tag on a passed ball. Brown
went two for three with an RBI. Always dangerous Paul Tolles was two for four
and scored a run. The express wiggled good in the third when they only
surrendered one run on a bases loaded situation with some excellent defence.
