In Sydenham the pitchers combined to give up a total of 6 hits in this low

the top of the third inning hitting a one out solo homerun to straight away
centre field. In the top of the fourth the Cowboys scored two more runs.
Second baseman Jon Swaine drew a lead off walk and moved to third when
designated player Craig Pearce laid down a sacrifice bunt and reached base on an
error. Pitcher Ryan Sharpe then drove in Swaine with an RBI double to left
field. One out later first baseman Josh Vanderzande drove in a run with a
groundout to shortstop. In the bottom of the inning left fielder Ryan Bowes

Kingston Cowboys 2 Sunbury 1 in Inverary
Sunbury threatened in the top of the first inning when lead off hitter and
centre fielder Paul Tolles hit a double to centre field. A fielder's choice put
runners on first and third and one out later third baseman Dave Tolles was hit
by a pitch to load the bases. The Cowboys starter Jon Swaine was able to get
out of the inning with a line drive out to centre and a strike out. Sunbury had
a runner in scoring position again in the third when shortstop Trevor Corkey
doubled to right centre. Corkey was stranded at second. Sunbury opened the
scoring in the top of the fourth when catcher Jason Norman led off the inning
with a homerun to left field. The Cowboys had their first runner reach scoring
position in the fourth when Swaine hit a ball that was misplayed in centre with
one out. After a ground out moved Swaine to third, Sunbury pitcher Dave Hanna
struck out the next batter to end the inning. The Cowboys tied the score in the
bottom of the fifth inning on a two out RBI single to centre field by pinch
hitter Tim Murphy. Shortstop Jamie Purdon had reached base on a one out walk
and moved to second on a passed ball before Murphy delivered the Cowboys first
hit of the game. The Cowboys threatened again in the sixth inning when first
baseman Craig Pearce and relief pitcher Ryan Sharpe received back to back two
out walks. Pinch hitter Adam Lake then lined out to the second baseman to end
the inning. In the bottom of the seventh inning the Cowboys started the inning
with a single up the middle by Purdon. Bob Finucan came on in relief of Hanna.
Left fielder Josh Vanderzande attempted to sacrifice the runner over and reached
base on a fielder's choice when Sunbury attempted to get the runner at second
but the throw went off the shortstop's glove. After a strikeout, centre fielder
Jeff Hannah singled up the middle to score Purdon to end the game.
