Battersea threatened to score in the top of the first inning when third baseman Devin Lake tripled to right field with two out.  Cowboys pitcher Jon Swaine then retired the next batter via strikeout when with a full count the batter swung at the pitch.  The pitch hit the batter in the shoulder.  The umpire called the play dead and called the batter out to end the inning.  The Cowboys scored three times in the bottom of the third inning with two runs coming on a two out double by second baseman Tim Murphy to right centre field.  Third baseman Jamie Purdon doubled down the first base line to lead off the inning and two outs later centre fielder Jeff Hannah drew a walk to bring Murphy to the plate.  Swaine followed with an RBI single to left to make the score 3-0.  Battersea once again left a runner at third base in the fourth after Lake led off the inning with a bunt single.  The Cowboys struck for four more runs in the fourth inning.  Shortstop Doug Kane led off the inning and reached second base when the ball was dropped in the outfield.  One out later Purdon singled up the middle to score Kane.  With two outs first baseman Josh Vanderzande and Hannah both drew walks to load the bases for Murphy.  He hit a bases clearing triple to centre field to make the score 7-0.  Battersea made a pitching change in the top of the fifth inning bringing in Travis Monds to replace Mike Paul.  Catcher Craig Pearce doubled to right field to begin the inning and scored on an RBI single to centre by left fielder Adam Lake.  Brandon Burtch followed with single and both runners moved up on a ground out.  With two outs Vanderzande hit a ball that was misplayed by the right fielder that allowed both runners to score to end the game 10-0.
