Brett Contracting Cowboys Vs Moscow
The Cowboys opened the scoring in the second inning when pitcher Bryan Brooks led off the inning with a single up the middle,
moved to second on a stolen base, and then went to third on a ground out.  Right fielder Tim Murphy then hit a ground ball to
shortstop to score Brooks.  Moscow replied in the third inning.  With one out, left fielder Andrew Plumley hit a double.  The
next batter, third baseman Chris Hartwick, reached base on a throwing error that allowed Plumley to score.  Moscow took the
lead in the fifth inning.  Centre fielder Colin Tryon reached base on a bunt single and scored one out later when Hartwick
doubled down the right field line.  The Cowboys took the lead in the top of the sixth inning scoring three times.  Centre fielder
Jeff Hannah hit a triple to right centre field with one out to begin the rally.  Catcher Doug Kane followed with a triple to left
field, scoring Hannah to tie the game.  Left fielder Pat Severin then hit into a fielder's choice with Kane being thrown out at the
plate.  Brooks then singled to centre field to score Severin and advanced to third on an error.  First baseman Kevin Buchan
followed with a bloop single to left field to finish the scoring.  On a defensive note, the play of the year was most likely
completed last night by left fielder Pat Severin of the Cowboys.  In the fourth inning, with a runner at second, right fielder Mike
Yeomans hit a deep blast to left centre field.  Severin tracked the ball down, and then dove, fully extended, to catch the ball for
the final out of the inning while landing in a huge body of water that had settled in left field.
