Sydenham Amey's Drilling Vs Brett Contracting Cowboys
Sydenham opened the scoring in the top of the first inning, scoring two runs.  Hughie Vankoughnett reached base on an error and then scored on a single by second baseman Steve White.  White then crossed the plate when third baseman Trevor Corkey hit an RBI single to right field.  The Cowboys responded in the bottom of the second inning taking a 6-2 lead.  After back-to-back walks to shortstop Doug Kane and first baseman Kevin Buchan started the inning, left fielder Brandon Burtch delivered a two run single to left field.  A two out walk to right fielder Adam Lake and an RBI single by catcher Pat Severin led to a three run homerun by pitcher Jon Swaine to left field.  Sydenham cut into the lead in the fourth inning, scoring a run after catcher Reuben Struthers doubled and then scored on an error on a bunt by first baseman Nick Hogan.  The Cowboys added four runs in the fourth inning on RBI singles by Buchan, third baseman Jon Peters and Lake.  In the fifth inning, Swaine led off with his second homerun of the game and Burtch added an RBI single.  The final run of the game came in the sixth inning when three consecutive singles  by centre fielder Jeff Hannah, Lake, and Severin allowed Hannah to cross the plate.
