Battersea Merchants Vs Kingston Cowboys
Ryan Sharpe opened the season on the mound for the defending champions, the Kingston Cowboys. After giving up a one out triple to right field by Battersea catcher Tony Switzer, Sharpe retired the next two batters via the strikeout. In the home half of the first inning, the Cowboys took advantage of three walks to score three runs. Centre fielder Jeff Hannah led off the inning with a walk and moved to second one out later on a walk to catcher Darryl Barker. After both runners advanced a base on a passed ball, shortstop Doug Kane hit a line drive single to left field to cash in two runs. Kane later stole home to make the score 3-0. Battersea closed the gap in the top of the fourth inning when centre fielder Jason Moodie, who had singled with one out, scored on a two out throwing error. In the bottom of the fifth inning the Cowboys reached the plate again, scoring two runs. Relief pitcher Jon Swaine started the rally with a lead off walk and moved to second base on a passed ball. Kane followed with a run scoring single to left. Kane would later score when third baseman Dana Jewers hit a ball that was misplayed. The Cowboys ended the scoring in the bottom of the sixth inning, tallying three more times. Second baseman Kevin Gauvreau led off the inning with a walk and advanced a base on a passed ball. Hannah then hit a double to left centre field, putting runners on second and third. Swaine followed with an RBI single. Barker reached base on a error to load the bases. Jewers followed with a single to left field, scoring Hannah. Sharpe the drew his third walk of the game, forcing in Swaine.

Sunbury Vs North Fred Kings
North Fred opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI single by starting pitcher Bryan Brooks that scored catcher Pat Severin who had hit a one out double to start the rally. The lead was extended to 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning when Severin hit a solo homerun to centre field off of Sunbury starter Craig Hollingsworth. Sunbury replied in the top of the fourth inning when left fielder Terry Orr hit a triple and then scored when the ball was misplayed on a hit by the following batter. Sunbury tied the game in the top of the sixth inning on a deep homerun down the right field line by Dave Tolles. North Fred won the game in the bottom of the seventh inning with a two out rally. Severin hit a triple with two out and scored on an RBI single by Brooks to end the game.
