As the European Airbus superjumbo undergoes tests, one of the RAF's top commanders, Air Vice Marshal David Walker, has suggested that pilots might consider suicide missions as part of their remit.

Bad news for the latest petro-imperialist scheme ...
Iranian President Ahmadinejad has announced the release of all the British sailors and marines.
Having stalled for four years over the invasion of the next oil target, petro-imperialism is now on the back foot. Its latest apparent scheme was reactive, in evident response to "marching orders" from Congress to evacuate Iraq by August 2008. Though these are veto-able, the writing is on the wall.
An Iranian journalist, interviewed from Tehran by British Channel 4 News, said the Revolutionary Guards had been on edge because in the last six months American and British troops in Iraq had been moving closer to and encroaching on Iran's land and sea borders.
Amid British denials of deals, the second secretary of the Iranian embassy in Baghdad, supposedly kidnapped by "an insurgent group", is back in Tehran.
Further evidence that some "insurgent groups" are US/UK black ops.

Four British soldiers and their Iraqi translator were killed by a roadside bomb (IED)in Basra, southern Iraq. A fifth soldier "is fighting for his life".
The troops were in a strongly-armoured vehicle. Assume it was a "shaped" charge ("explosive formed penetrator", EFP).
Mutter mutter about Iranian backing.
Afterwards, Iraqi policemen at a checkpoint had their weapons seized by British troops.
Three men have been charged in relation to the 7/7 London Underground bombings.
One was charged with conspiring for seven months, from day after someone was captured on CCTV, to a few days before the attacks (on 7 July 2005).
An admission from one of the released UK sailors — their leader, Captain Chris Air? — that their mission had been partly to "get intelligence on" Iran.

The sailors would have been pre-rehearsed by their commanders/MoD, says a Sky News correspondent.
The US head of Homeland Security (still Alberto Gonzales?) is worried about attacks by British-based radicals ("Islamist", obviously).
The petro-cabal must be worried about its own necks, regarding mass murder and treason, should its imperial scheme stall altogether and implode on itself.

The UK Ministry of Defence is allowing the marines and sailors to sell their stories to the newspapers. They are expected to raise individual six-figure sums. The marines say they will pool their earnings.
Opposition commentators have condemned the move.

Anti-US demonstrations in Iraq on the fourth anniversary of the toppling of Saddam Hussein. Organized by Moqtadr al-Sadr, whom the Americans say fled to Iran, but whose supporters say is lying low in Iraq. A few Sunni clerics joined the mainly-Shiite demonstrations.
Iranian president Ahmadinejad says Iran is now refining uranium on an "industrial" scale; it now has 3,000 centrifuges in operation. (White House spokesman due to speak at 5:30pm BST.)

Car-bombs at the Algerian prime minister's office and elsewhere in Algiers. "Al-Qaeda" was responsible.
Last year, "Qaeda no.2" Ayman al-Zawahiri welcomed the group's decision to rename itself "Al-Qaeda in Islamist North Africa".

A "suspected suicide bomber" in Iraq's parliament killed three MPs and eight others. The attack happened when MPs were on a break in the restaurant.
The parliament is, of course, in the "heavily protected" Green Zone. People are suggesting an inside job, and the spectre of al-Qaeda is once again being raised. One-and-the-same thing.
Earlier, a truck bomb destroyed an important Baghdad bridge, in spite of there being checkpoints at either end. Ten people were killed here.
The BBC correspondent Michael Crick said on Newsnight that the British Navy had appeared to be auctioning the sailors' and marines' stories to the highest bidder.

A bombing outside a shrine in Iraq kills dozens.

Two RAF helicopters crashed north of Baghdad, killing an airman and a soldier, and injuring four others. It happened at or near the town of T_____, where there is a large US military base.
Special forces were said to be among those on board the helicopters.

Nearly 200 people were killed in a series of car-bombings in Shi'ite areas of Baghdad.
The largest, in a market area, killed 140. 130 were killed in the same place just two months ago. This time, many were construction workers rebuilding the market.
An IAEA report says that Iran has started the process of uranium production.

Yesterday, control Iraq's Meyssan province (bordering Iran in the south of the country) "was handed over to the irqis".
Today, two British soldiers of the Queens Royal Lancers were killed and three injured (one seriously) by a roadside bomb while they were on a "routine" patrol in Meyssan.
One fine day in the middle of the night, two dead men got up to fight. Back to back, they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other.

The Iraqi PM Nouri al-Malaki has asked the US military to stop building a wall in Baghdad intended to separate Sunnis and Shias. The wall, which is being built at night, has a projected finished length of three miles.

Nine US soldiers were killed in a "suicide bombing" north-east of Baghdad.
Bush has vetoed a US Senate bill calling for withdrawal from Iraq to begin this August.
The US says it is holding one of al-Qaeda's top council of ten, Abd al-Hadi al-Iraqi (he looks more Caucasioid, with black hair and beard), at Guantanamo. "Qaeda's chief-of-operations", says US.
He is said to have been picked up by the CIA when he tried to cross into Iraq late last year.

Saudi police have arrested 172 "Qaeda militants" who were "planning air attacks on Saudi oilfieds".

In the UK five men, including "ringleader" Omar Khyam, have been sentenced to life for a plot to bomb the London "Ministry of Sound" nightclub and a shopping centre, etc. Two others were acquitted.
"Revealed" now that group had connections with 7/7 plotters.
— MI5 filmed Omar Khyam meeting "future 7/7 bombers" Mohammed Sidique Khan and Shahzad Tanweer on the night of 1-2 Feb. 04, during the surveillance "Operation Crevice" on Khyam and his associates. It followed Khan and Tanweer, and observed them meeting Khyam on two or three further occasions. (BBC 1 News, 30 April 07)
A US government report says terrorism has increased 25 percent over the last year. Most is in Iraq and Afghanistan. Al-Qaeda is "regrouping". And boy, do the petro-imperialists need it.
