Eight have now been arrested, six of them doctors, in connection with the recent UK "car bomb" plot. Police believe they have all of them.
Most of those arrested were already on MI5's databases (contrary to earlier reports) (British Channel 4 News, 3 July 07 at 7pm)

'WASHINGTON (AFP) — Osama bin Laden's right-hand man Ayman al-Zawahiri issued a 95 minute video Wednesday [today] coinciding with the US July 4 Independence Day holiday, giving advice to Muslims, but apparently making no new threats.
'"Today, the wind — by the grace of Allah — is blowing against Washington," Zawahiri says in Arab[ic] in the video, with English subtitles, provided by al-Qaeda's As-Sahab Media to the Alexandria, Virginia-based IntelCenter [my emphasis].
'The eighth video released by Zawahiri so far this year is titled "The Advice of One Concerned" ...'
'Al-Qaida's deputy leader [al-Zawahiri] sought to bolster the terror network's main arm in Iraq in a new video released Thursday [today] ...' (But it is evidently the same video as that referred to yesterday ...)
'[Caption to still image from video:] In this image made from video provided by IntelCenter, [al-Zawahiri] appears in a new video tape ..., a US-based intelligence monitoring group said Wednesday [4 July 07]. Al-Zawahiri is seen ... addressing a wide array of topics ... said the US-based SITE intelligence group, which monitors al-Qaida messages. The group said it had obtained the tape ahead of its release on the Internet by militant web sites [my emphasis], and issued a transcript of al-Zawahiri's speech. IntelCenter is a private contractor working for intelligence agencies. ([Acknowledgement:] AP Photo/via InterCenter [sic])

Four of the Chapati Six "attempted 21/7 London Tube bombers" have been convicted. Included are the half-witted-looking "mastermind" Muktar Said Ibrahim, and Ramzi Mohammed. Two others are still pending. Ibrahim is said to have visited a terror camp in Pakistan at the same time as "7/7 bombings leader" Mohammed Sidique Khan.
Gone is all reference to chapatti flour; only hydrogen peroxide is still mentioned ("distilled painstakingly from hair bleach"). "Strengthening the circumstantial evidence" is the fact that the "would-be bombers" used this formula — "used only once before, by the 7/7 bombers" two weeks before. A "fact" which, on the contrary, underlines the comic-opera drivel that "supports" these cases.
11 July: The convicted four have been sentenced to 40 years apiece.
The judge "firmly believes" that the "21/7 would-be bombers" were connected to the "7/7 bombers", and to al-Qaeda.
We have already encountered many of his worthy breed in Stalin's Russia and Hitler's Germany.

A videotape — or audiotape — from "Qaeda no.2 Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri", addressing new Brit PM Gordon Brown, criticizing the knighthood given to Salman Rushdie, and warning Britain etc etc.
Produced by "al-Qaeda's media committee as-Sahab", whose logo appears in the bottom-right-hand corner. And in the top-right-hand corner:- "IntelCenter".
The CIA-duh terror campaign is now brazen — or careless, as you will — without limit. And it is clear the video is part of the current terror-campaign ...
An earlier al-Zawahiri video (see above, under 4 July 07) was "provided by al-Qaeda's As-Sahab Media to the Alexandria, Virginia-based IntelCenter". A similar group, SITE, "said it had obtained the tape ahead of its release on the internet by militant web sites [my emphasis] ..." (IntelCenter itself is described as "a private contractor working for intelligence agencies".)
And here's a major reason for this campaign ...
Congress is considering legislation which will specify a date by which US troops should begin withdrawing from Iraq.
A major cyber-assault on Estonia which, like the attack on internet root servers a few years ago, tested the system to the limit, but not over it.

In London, a black "paranoid schizophrenic" "religious zealot", who in 2006 ran an arson campaign against subcotinent-Indian shopkeepers, resulting in two deaths, has been detained indefinitely in Broadmoor, the secure unit for the criminally insane.
A list found in his home showed he also targeted mosques, gay clubs, and animal-cloning centres.

In the UK, the chairman of the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO, Ken Jones, has told The Observer that some terror suspects should be held without charge "for as long as it takes" which, for some reason, some have interpreted as a call for indefinite detention. Speaking to Sky News, Jones said he was as much for liberty as anyone.
And Hitler was for the Jews.
In the (post-9/11) past, ACPO has called for everyone's DNA profile to be placed on a national register at birth.
IntelCenter, the US-based "private contractor working for intelligence agencies", is evidently the CIA's production line for much if not most of the stream of "Qaeda" video and audio terror tapes.

The South-Park-quality "bin Laden" videos are likely put out to make the "al-Zawahiri" videos look authentic in comparison.
The Catholic diocese of Los Angeles has made an out-of-court settlement of $300 million with 500 who claim to have been sexually abused by priests, etc.
This is the highest amount so far in a campaign which has cost the US Catholic Church $2 billion so far. It won't come out of parochial funds, but the Church will probably have to sell some buildings. The loss of moral credit is far greater, and more to the point.

In the UK, anti-war MP George Galloway has been suspended from the House of Commons for 18 days for "bringing the House into disrepute". Though the investigating committee apparently found him not inculpated the Iraqi oil-for-food "scandal", yet he was .... rude to the committee.
Just another example of the UK's puppet status vis-a-vis American petro-imperialism.
In the UK, someone has suggested that the "opt-in" regime for organ donations be replaced with an "opt-out" one.
Next, compulsory brain replacements with chips controlled from Langley or the White House.
US intelligence agencies (read "CIA" as usual) have said al-Qaeda is a growing threat to US interests, including the "homeland" itself. Though two-thirds of the old leadership have been killed or captured, al-Qaeda is said to have regrouped mainly in Iraq. No surprise there, since the US military — and the CIA — is in occupation.

Former Hizb ut Tahrir member Shiraz Maher appears on BBC Newsnight again (cf. above, under 3 July 07) to preach against Islamism. The brother of the "man who set himself on fire" at Glasgow Airport, BTW, turns out to be from Bangalore, India. The "burnt face and chest" we saw in a showing of a still photo — not the first — of him being held by police, would be his natural skin colour. It's his white-skinned sides that need explanation now. ...

More floods in UK. Government emergency committee COBRA convened, a big effort by army, navy, fire service and police to prevent a key electricity switching station of Walham, Gloucestershire, from flooding. This would have affected not only 500,000 homes, but also the intelligence facility General Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) at Cheltenham, "and a nuclear installation [/facility?] I'm not allowed to mention" (anchorman John Snow).

In the UK, an explosion in the number of IPPs, "Indeterminate Sentences to Protect the Public", is contributing to pressure on the prison system. Introduced by the Criminal Justice Act of 2003, 2,950 such sentences have now been passed (compared with a total prison population of approx. 74,000).
Judges are compelled under the terms of the Act to apply indeterminate sentences to relatively minor offences; many IPPs are for robbery, for example. They apply a low minimum tariff to many IPPs, e.g. 15 months. ...
