Don't Help Declarer Rectify the Count
Not all squeezes depend on a rectification of the count. Sometimes you might squeeze a defender out of a dangerous card, and then throw him in for a favorable lead. And there are other ways the squeeze might precede rectification. Nevertheless . . . a rectified count is a very favorable situation for a declarer and may very well be the only way a potential squeeze can be effected and doubtless is the in an easy majority of squeezes. So . . you don't want to help your opponent rectify the count if you can help it.
To be sure, this is not an easy matter to determine, by no means on a level with determining that you're the only one who can protect a suit and sticking by that (doubtless the easiest of the ways of inhibiting a squeeze) nor knocking out an entry (probably the second easiest). But it is a way, and you might add the possibility to your arsenal. Above are links to examples.
