The Virgo mobile doll was the latest word in Oz mobile suits. The Virgo's design was that of a combination of the Vayeate and Mercurius. The drawback of the Vayeate and Mercurius was that if one was knocked out, the other's abilities to fight are extremely limited. The Virgo removed this flaw: If one Virgo is destroyed , it's comrades can carry on without it. The only drawback was that the Beam Cannon had to be downsized by about 20% and the planet defonsors were shortened from ten to four. This rendered a single Virgo weaker than the Vayeate and Mercurius, but then again a Virgo is never intended to be used alone. Instead Virgos are used in entire legions, and one such legion is nearly impossible to destroy by anything except a Gundam.        A Virgo's weakness falls in it's lack of close range weaponry. The Beam Cannon is nearly useless in close quartes, and that just happens to be most of the Gundams' specialty. Also, most Virgo's programming doesn't allow for complicated stratgeys: Since the Romefeller Foundation doesn't believe that a Gundam can defeat a legion of Virgo's, the complicated programming of the Taurus dolls didn't carry over into the Viirgo: A Virgo's programming just has it wade right through opposition and slaughter it's enemies. No complex tactics, no advanced manuvering, just "kill anything in it's way." This is another major downfall of the Virgo.          Romefeller military doctrine calls for about forty Virgos and ten or so Leos  in a legion. The Virgos do all the fighting while the Leos  will give out orders.  Tauruses were used instead of Leos in more diffucult assaults, although those events were few and far between. A new design of Virgo, which would replace the Taurus was under devlopment at the Lunar Base when the White Fang took it over from Romefeller's control. This new design was called Virgo II.
