| We first see Kaoru in the Kenshin series when she thinks that Kenshin is the Battousai that is using her Kamiya Kasshin Ryu for killing. When Kenshin falls into an empty nearby store, she knew it wasn't him anymore. Then the real 'Battousai' comes and fights Kaoru. She has a Bokken and he has a Katana. He slices her Bokken into leavin her holding the grip. He was about to strike at Kaoru again, when Kenshin steps in and saves Kaoru. The police came and the 'Battousai' ran away. She begged Kenshin to let her go after him when she fainted. She then gets brought back to her Dojo. Her father died and Kaoru took over the Dojo teaching her students the art of the Kamiya Kasshin Ryu for protecting and never to be used for killing. When word got around that the 'Battousai' was using the Kamiya Kasshin Ryu, the students parents got scared and didn't let their sons go to the Dojo anymore, leaving Kaoru with no students. She supports her 'family' (AKA Docter Genzai and Ayame and Suzume) so she didn't have any money. Kaoru is a terrible cook and often lets Kenshin do it along with all the chores. |
