Performer of The Week: Jon Lindstrom
Article Thanks To Holly

Stranding a beloved (if daffy) heroine at the alter is
hardly the way to win the hearts of fans. But PORT
CHARLES's Jon Lindstrom managed to wring sympathy for
the wouldn't-be groom with performances that ran the
gamut from anger to hurt to aching loss, when Kevin
felt compelled to call off his wedding to Lucy after
he found out that she'd lied to him.
Lindstrom brings to his character a gentle strength
and compassion that make us believe that Kevin--who
has been through so much trauma himself--wouldn't hurt
anyone unless he absolutely had to. He has managed to
summon up forgiveness for people, including Lucy, so
often in the past that when he broke poor Lucy's
heart, we knew he felt he had no choice. "I wish
anger was all I felt," he told a shattered Lucy after
the wedding day melee. "Right now, I feel like I
don't even know you."
Of course, Lindstrom had ample support from his
partner, Lynn Herring (Lucy). In their scene back at
the lighthouse after the chapel fiasco, when Lucy
pointed out that their wedding date coincided with the
anniversary of her miscarriage, these two stellar
actors couldn't have been more moving had they been
driving their own Mayflower truck. "Are you trying to
make me feel worse? Because believe me when I tell
you, it isn't possible," said Kevin. We believed him.
