Lucy Praises Kevin for His Manliness
(Lucy enters Kevin's office. He sits at his desk.)
L: "You, you, you, you, you, come here, you."
(Lucy kisses Kevin. )
L: "Now, I know that I did that this morning, you know, just a little while ago, to send you on your little day, but I couldn't wait till tonight."
K: "For what?"
L: "I have to tell you once again how magnificent you were last night. I mean, I know you've defended by honor before. You know, that time you came to Buffalo and you threw me over your shoulder and took me away from Damian, you know, and you just, well, it was a good, but last night, boy that Buffalo thing pales in comparison. You were a beast. You were crazed with anger. You were defending your little mate. You vanquished Damian."
K: "You really find all that attractive?"
L: "Oh boy, do I ever, Doc."
(Lucy kisses Kevin and he pretty much flees for his life As
Kevin nearly inhales a glass of water, Lucy continues...)
L: "And to think that after all of that, you still had so much energy afterwards and, then, this morning, more. It was very hard for me to let you out of my bedroom."
K: "You made that perfectly clear."
L: "OK, so I couldn't stop thinking about you all morning. Guess what I did? I ran out and I bought you a present. (Lucy pulls a pair of boxing gloves out of a bag.) To the winner and still champion of my world. Now, these are for you. These are to protect your hands because, after all, you are a doctor. So, if you decide you need to protect my virtue again, use these."
K: "All this is very thoughtful, Lucy, but I'm a psychiatrist, I'm not a surgeon, you know. My hands aren't really all that important."
L: "Well, they are to me."
(Lucy takes his hands in hers and pulls his arms around her. As they kiss, Lucy takes off his jacket. Kevin protests... but not too
strenuously...)
K: "Lucy, anyone could come in here at any time."
L: "That's OK, I can fix that."
K: "Ah-ah... Lucy..."
(Lucy locks his office door.)
L: "Now, Doc, Doc, Doc, Doc, don't go getting all inhibited on me, not after last night."
(Lucy leads Kevin to the couch.)
K: "Oh, I just don't know what came over me."
(Lucy is kissing him and unbuttoning his vest.)
L: "Well, why don't you let me refresh your memory?"
K: "No, no, no, I mean where all that aggression came from. It was like a new kind of energy for me."
L: "Mmmm-mmmm... well, you know, I'm not sure either, but mine is not to reason why, mine is just to enjoy and you're to enjoy. Wait a minute, don't move, leave that body of yours there. Stay, stay, stay."
(Lucy stands, goes to take the phone off the hook and closes Kevin's appointment book. Lucy returns to stand in front of Kevin and asks of him...)
L: "Now, nobody can disturb us. Doc, please, will you do that manly man thing, again? Please?"
K: "Oh, again?"
L: "Mmmm-mmmm, pretty please."
K: "All right."
(Kevin stands and takes off his vest. Lucy seems to be breathing a bit harder. Kevin pulls Lucy into his arms , stares down at her and nearly kisses her, but instead, he literally sweeps her off her feet and into his arms. Kissing her, he carries her to the couch. Still kissing, they slowly sink into the cushions. And there's more kissing... and music... and... fade to black...)
(Later, Kevin enters the Outback. Mac helpfully offers his
opinion...)
M: "Well, you look beat."
K: "I'll bet. And thank you."
M: "Can I get you a little pick-me-up?"
K: "You wouldn't have Ginseng tea, by any chance, would you?"
M: "You know, as a matter of fact, I think we do. You know Felicia and all her weird concoctions and everything."
K: "Well, then, concoct me an entire pot of the stuff and if Lucy calls, you haven't seen me."
M: "Trouble?"
K: "Just the opposite... too much, too good."
M: "OK... That was quite a number you did on Damian last night."
K: "Tell me about it. You know, it's not as if my animosity for the man is news to anyone, but going after him like that..."
M: "You were pretty ferocious."
K: "I completely lost it."
M: "I bet it felt good."
K: "It felt great. Speaking of animosity, what is the story between you and this Jax character?"
(Basically, Mac isn't saying, but warns Kevin...)
M: "I'll say this and no more, don't you and Lucy get caught up in his charm. Jax is as ruthless as they come. End of story."
(Later, Kevin visits Lucy in her office. She wonders...)
L: "Oh boy, do you want me to lock the door?"
K: "Yes, but no, I have some appointments this evening."
L: "Oh, well, that's good, actually. I mean that I have some business to take care of myself, as in merger business."
K: "Yeah, that's what I came to talk to you about... this Jax person."
L: "How did you know that? You know what? I think that you have psychic ability, too. You must have, because how could you know that I just had my first opportunity to dangle the hook in front on his nose? And I'll admit, he was cool, but I really think he was interested."
K: "Oh, yes, but there's the rub. What's he interested in?"
L: "Oh, Doc, I mean, I don't think, well, he could be, not me. You're just getting so cute and possessive, but, really, try not to knock him because I don't want you to ruin my plans with him. OK?"
K: "Lucy, I don't think he is interested in you. Well, I think he is,
but it's in a more peripheral way. Far be it from me to tell you how to run your business, right?"
L: "This is good."
K: "Yes, but I just wanted to remind you of what Mac said the other night and repeated to me, again, just a few minutes ago..."
L: "Oh, pooh."
K: "Lucy, I don't know what Mac's dealings with this man were, but he says that he can't be trusted and he speaks like someone who knows."
L: "Pooh."
