This week on PORT CHARLES, Lucy has a vision of her wedding, but she is unable to see the groom's face. Judging from the letters pouring into "Digest," it had better be Kevin's. Since the soap paired Lucy's former flame with Eve, and Eve's ex-beau, Scott, with Lucy, many viewers have expressed displeasure. Julie Pinson (Eve), who has also received mail from disgruntled fans, is philosophical. "Sometimes, you've got to shake things up a little," reasons the actress. "I think if fans realize that this is a good thing for the characters, then they'll come to like it."
Head Writer Lynn Marie Latham echoes Pinson. "What happens on shows is your desire to see couples reunited fuels a great number of storylines. On DALLAS, it fueled the Pam and Bobby Ewing storyline. On KNOTS LANDING [which Latham scripted], it was Val and Gary Ewing.
"If everything is safe and secure like it's always been," Latham smiles, "after a while, people would probably not enjoy it as much."
