Chapter 2

''Well NOW what do you have to say for yourself, Mister?'' Lucy asked looking at Kevin.

''Oh god – I wasn't even born yet what did I know?'' Kevin argued.

''Well Monk that kick was pretty undisputable'' Victor reasoned.

''So baby wadda ya say if you're a little boy – Kevin Junior'' Lucy asked talking to her stomach when she felt a strong kick to her bladder. She squirmed uncomfortably glaring at Kevin who was laughing.

''Oh you shut up'' she frowned.

''Well I'm going to make a sandwich – you want something, luv?'' Kevin asked rubbing Lucy's tummy lightly while getting off the couch.

''Actually Doc if you could get make me one of those yummy little watermelon and barbeque sauce sandwiches…''

Kevin just made a disgusted face while Victor chuckled.

''Oh God you have another story don't you?'' Kevin asked with fake horror.

''In fact..'' Victor started.

''Oh brother'' Kevin sighed rushing out of the room before Victor could

start another one of his stories.

!~!~!~!~!~!~! Melanie was in the kitchen humming to herself. She was actually getting used to the idea of having twins. But the prospect of giving birth to them scared her. But since she was only five months pregnant she put it out of her mind. Instead she looked through the kitchen trying desperately to find something that looked good. Vic teased her about some of her wilder cravings which included anything --ANYTHING-- covered in chocolate sauce to pudding with every meal and sometimes on everything. She said that she could not help it. Right now none of the above sounded good. But she needed SOMETHING and soon. So she pulled out a pint of vanilla ice cream, some pickles, chocolate, strawberry sauce, carrots and just for good measure a thing of whipped cream and proceeded to make the most um--interesting--looking and tasting sundae.

!~!~!~!~!~!~!

Lucy rubbed her tummy ''Hmm… one of Melanie's sundaes sounds pretty good right now.''

''Oh you had to see the other concoctions she mixed up!'' Victor laughed when Kevin walked in with two sandwiches.

''Here you are'' Kevin said sitting down on the couch next to Lucy handing her the watermelon & barbeque sandwich.

''Oh yummy!'' Lucy proclaimed excited taking a bite from her sandwich and eyeing Kevin's. ''What's that?''

''Ham, mustard, no mayo, on rye'' Kevin answered talking a huge bite of his sandwich.

''Eww!!'' Lucy yelled holding her mouth running to the bathroom. Kevin shook his head ''How can she eat something like THAT and not get sick'' he asked pointing to Lucy's sandwich ''But an ordinary ham sandwich sends her running – I just don't get it!''

''I'm afraid there's no help I can offer but just to deal with it – Only four more months you should survive. I did and just think I survived it with Melanie.'' Victor consoled.

''True'' Kevin answered when Lucy walked slowly out of the bathroom pale and clenching her stomach.

''Oh Lucy are you alright?'' Victor asked getting off the chair, taking her hand and leading her back to the couch.

''Oh Victor I'll be fine just a little bit of morning sickness I guess'' Lucy said half smiling has Kevin took another bite of his sandwich.

''Oh no you don't! You better get rid of that awful thing right this second!'' Lucy said sternly while pointing at the sandwich.

Kevin frowned ''But I'm hungry''

''Fine you want your pregnant girlfriend in there puking all night just because you're too self serving to throw out a little…''

''Okay, okay!'' Kevin gave in opening the door throwing the sandwich somewhere ''Happy?''

''Very'' Lucy answered color returning to her face. Victor led her back to the couch letting her ease herself down.

''Thank You'' Lucy said sweetly to Victor kissing him on the cheek.

''Hey, hey, hey I threw out the sandwich!'' Kevin said butting in.

''Oh thank you too!'' Lucy said giving Kevin a quick peck on the lips.

Kevin grinned happily has Lucy shifted uncomfortably.

''Are you okay?'' Kevin asked

''Yes perfect just your little one wants to play – wow this one sure likes to kick a lot'' Lucy smiled taking Victor's hand moving it to her stomach. ''Feel that?''

Victor chuckled ''Oh my! Certainly is a antsy little bugger!''

Lucy laughed ''Sure is! It' been like this the past few nights'' Lucy explained.

''Oh well you must be loving it'' Victor grinned ''In fact I remember Kevin and Ryan's first kick or well kicks I should say…''

!~!~!~!~!~!~!

It was late at night and Melanie just could not get to sleep. She was tired and wanted sleep but sleep did not want to come to her. 'God I hate being pregnant! I have not had a good night sleep since I have been pregnant. Four more months of THIS?!?! I guess it is worth it.' Melanie thought while rubbing her growing stomach.

She stoped for a minute to cover her mouth while she yawned and that is when she felt two tiny kicks at the same time. Kevin had started kicking earlier that month but Ryan was the one she was worried about. But the two kicks -one from the right and one from the left- assured her that Ryan was okay.

''Victor! Victor! Wake up! Ryan just kicked for the first time. Kevin kicked too.'' Melanie said moving her hands around her growing stomach trying to feel the movements again.

Laughing as he placed his hand on her abdomen Victor smiled when he felt the little kick of his unborn son Ryan.

''I think he wanted his brother to kick with him. You know to do something together. Once he gets going he never stops does he?''

''Kevin has not stopped kicking since he started. It is almost as if he was showing Ryan how to do it.'' Melanie laughed.

''I love you Melie.'' Victor said and kissed her fiercely.''Thank you for giving me my sons.''

''I love you too. Hey whadda you mean YOUR sons? Their mine too!'' Melanie laughed.

''Our family.'' Victor said and they continued to feel their children move about inside of Melanie and they were content.

!~!~!~!~!~!~!

Lucy watched has a faint smile tempted Kevin's lips.

''So I guess Melanie wasn't always…'' Kevin didn't need to finish. Victor knew what he meant.

''No son she wasn't'' Victor stated ''She loved you and your brother''

''Well who couldn't love this guy right here?'' Lucy leaned over kissing Kevin on the cheek with a hand still to her stomach. ''And I bet this little one will be exactly like his or her daddy – very smart and kind – it'll probably be a doctor or maybe a CEO or how do you feel about being the daddy of the president of the United States?''

Kevin looked a bit overwealmed ''That's kinda big dreams you have for this little one don't you think?''

''Oh no because you see our child is gonna be absolutely wonderful and able to do it all – I know it. Anyway this is what parents do. Make big plans and hopes for your children'' Lucy explained.

''Oh really?''

''Yep'' Lucy nodded ''Right Victor?''

''Oh certainly! We had both you and your brother's lives all planned out before you were even born!''

!~!~!~!~!~!~!

''What do you think our boys will do when they get older?'' Melanie asked.

''Oh.I am sure one of them is going to be a doctor and the other one probably a top government official. Why?''

''Oh because I was just wondering what I wanted them to be when they got older. I agree with the doctor part -Kevin will probably be the doctor. As for Ryan I don't know what I want for him. I want the best for him and what ever he chooses to do he will have my blessing.'' Melanie said.

''Why don't you think Ryan could be the doctor? Are you playing favorites already?'' Victor teased.

''No I just sense that Kevin is going to want to be a doctor. He certainly has the energy for it right now. I think Ryan would be good as a teacher. He certainly is not as energetic as Kevin but he has his moments.'' Melanie said.

''A doctor and a teacher. I like that. I always wanted to be a doctor. But teaching is definately my calling.''

Melanie smiled. She and Victor were going to have the best children in the world. She would see to that.
