Best Tearjearker: Lucy's Miscarriage, Port Charles


It was a rocky pregnancy from the start. After receiving the good news from her doctor, Lucy got stuck in an elevator and was sprayed by bullets by a deranged psyco. then Scotty's daughter, Serena, was kidnapped and Lucy had to engineer a tense ransom drop. Concurrent with overseeing the always frantic Nurses' Ball. The stress took it's toll; Lucy miscarried.

Although she did manage to carry surrogate daughter, Serena, to term, Lucy has suffered numerous miscarrages. This one was the saddest of all, because this time she was truly ready for motherhood. Ms.Coe was in a healthy and happy relationship, wanting a baby for all the right reasons. (Not to trap a man or hold onto one, like with ex husbands Tony and Alan) And it was made all the more poignant because the couple handled the news with utter dignity. No hysterical fits, no screaming matchs. As Lucy struggled to hold back tears, Kevin was strong for her, but later broke down in the arms of his best friend, Mac.

The good news? The couple is trying to concieve again. And since Lucy and Kevin have proved their love for each other time and time again, our hunch is that this time, baby will make a welcome three indeed.
