Hey everyone, welcome to my chinchilla pages. My bred chinchillas for over 6 years, and I learned so much from her. I love the chinchillas we still have. I have my own chinchillas as well, Dylan and his son Raistlin. Chinchillas are raised for their fur on huge ranches. And have been raised for this for a very long time. We however do not condone this. So we bred and raised them for pets. Chinchillas are very clean animals, they have no natural body odor, they can't get fleas or ticks, and they carry no dander which is the leading cause for pet related allergies. Chinchillas take baths in dust, they don't need immunizations, and they breed on average 2-3 times per year. Chinchillas are very easy to feed, and pretty inexpensive to feed as well. There are varying colors such as standard gray, black and brown velvet, white mosaics, pink whites, ebony, beige, and a few other colors as well. They are fascinating creatures. Dylan is a tov hetero beige or brown velvet, and his son Raistlin is a tov homo beige, also a brown velvet, but more pure in color. Raistlin's mother, Madison, is a homo beige. Hetero meaning just one color gene, and homo meaning 2 of the same color gene. I got Dylan many years ago when he was just about 8 weeks old. When he got here I instantly fell in love with him. When Mom got Madison she became Dylan's mate about a year later. Then Raistlin was born. Raistlin was born in a litter of 3. There were 2 boys and a girl. Raistlins brother was born dwarf and passed away later. His little sister however, did great. You can use the links below to view pictures of Dylan, Madison, and Raisltin. Please enjoy and let me know what you think by signing my guestbook! |
