Paul Vario Sr

Back in 1955, The Euclid Ave. Taxicab and Limosine Service in Brownsville was the unoffical headquarters for Paul Vario, The racketter for the area.

Paul was a large man, standing six foot at over 240lbs. He controlled almost all of the illigal gambling, loan sharking, labor rakets and extortion games. He was a member of The Lucchese Crime Family.

Paul used his four brothers as emissaries and partners. He owned the Presto Pizzeria(restaurant and Pizza Stand) on Pitkin Ave. around the corner from his cab office and The Fountainblu Florist on Fulton St. about six blocks from the cab stand.

Fourth Vario son. Ran cab stand, lost left leg in Korean War

Salvatore "Babe" Vario:

Youngest Vario. Ran the floating card and dice games in the area buildings, apartments,etc. Payed off law enforcement to garantee peaceful games.
